Canadian Occupational Projection System (COPS)

Industrial Search

Use this search tool to find projected industrial data used in the development of the COPS projections. Users can search for industrial data such as gross domestic product, employment, retirements, deaths and job openings by industry. Users can view this data in tables or in graphs.

Since the focus of the COPS projections is on the post-school labour market, the labour market series reported in this section (such as employment and job openings) do not pertain to people who are employed while studying or to positions usually occupied by students.

1Retirements are calculated at the occupational level for each industry and then added up to the industial total. Retirements are not calculated taking into consideration industrial factors, but rather occupational demographic information.

Statistics Canada information is used with the permission of Statistics Canada. Information on the availability of the wide range of data from Statistics Canada can be obtained from Statistics Canada's Regional Offices, its World Wide Web site at, and its toll-free access number 1-800-263-1136.
